The incumbent either performs or assists higher level IT Specialists with a wide variety of IT functions which may include: developing technical requirements for new or modified applications; analyzing and determining optimal hardware and software configurations; providing technical guidance in the design, coding, testing, and debugging process; assisting customers with desktop applications; installing applications; troubleshooting post-installation problems. Provides advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of IT issues. Conducts analyses and recommends resolutions of conventional but complex issues affecting a particular IT specialty area. May work on various teams that cut across many of the IT specialty areas to explore IT issues, resolve critical IT problems, and make recommendations for changes in processes, procedures, standards, etc. Provides functional expertise, analysis, and advice to the internal customers and/or contractors for interface decisions, integrated processes and operational considerations. Analyzes alternatives and recommends solutions relating to the complete life cycle for information systems and information systems components. Assists in identifying business requirements and developing basic specifications for new or upgraded computer hardware or peripheral equipment. Assist with identifying general business and functional requirements that support the need for systems and recommends solutions or alternatives. May participate in conferences, workshops, and task groups within the agency or with external partners. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge of and skill in applying, basic IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices; and COTS products and components sufficient to provide advice and guidance on conventional IT issues. Knowledge of and skill in applying internet technologies to analyze the internet potential of systems, networks, and data along with new and emerging information technologies and/or industry trends. Knowledge of acquisition management policies and procedures; cost-benefit analysis principles and methods sufficient to recommend the acquisition of products that provide for integration among a variety of systems. Knowledge of the Forest Service organization, mission and functions, and how social, political, and technological systems work and operates effectively within them, which includes the programs, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the organization. Skill in communicating, orally and in writing, sufficient to lead efforts in integrating and coordinating work and products with other, sometimes competing, systems and users and to ensure highly technical instructions, specifications and program needs are understandable by a wide variety of relevant customers. Ability to work with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
